The crew of a 27ft motorboat were rescued, just off the coast of Anglesey after their boat was navigated into an island of rocks. The crew managed to find a small spot of the boat were they could wait until rescued. The RNLI where alerted to the incident through a phone call from a mobile telephone, and were at the scene in minutes. It is reported the crew of the vessel had fled their boat without alerting emergency services through a radio or putting lifejackets on.
A local coastguard said: "It would have been very difficult for them to get ashore any other way, as they would have had to re-enter the sea to reach the next rocks from which they would have had to climb to safety."
A team is currently trying to deal with the leaking fuel from the damaged vessel but the conditions of the sea will make it difficult to contain all of the fuel.
