Boiler explodes leaving worker scared

£170,000 has been awarded to an engineer surveyor who was injured during his course of work when a boiler that he was inspecting exploded leaving him with serious burns and post traumatic stress.

When the boiler exploded, he became trapped under the large heavy boiler which was very hot. Whilst trapped he became unconscious, once he regained consciousness he started to try and free himself which meant trying to move from underneath the boiler which was burning his stomach and hands.

Whilst he was trapped under the boiler the man feared that the steam section would fail, resulting in death by scalding, leaving him with a psychological trauma as well as the physical injuries that he received.

Eventually the engineer was pulled from the boiler house leaving him with the need of skin grafts and plastic surgery. He has not been able to return to his job due to the mental scaring that he has been left with.
