Caravan business destroyed by fire

A fire of a business in Errol, Perthshire is thought not to have been suspicious, according to Tayside Fire and Rescue Service.

The Caravan Business, Perthshire Caravan Company, which was affected by a fire on Monday (25th May) received extensive damage, with 50 caused just by smoke and heat damage.

25 caravans and motorhomes were destroyed after the fire started in the businesses workshop, which spread through the ceiling of the building into its offices and showroom.

Although the extent of damage was bad, the company director, who lives nearby, said that more vehicles were parked around the building and the fire and rescue service were able to stop it spreading any further than the building itself, saving the company millions of pounds.

50 fire fighters tackled the blaze that took five hours to put to rest and had to be monitored every two hours after to insure that it did not relight.
