One of the most deadly perils facing the industrial sector is the risk of fire, many businesses seek out business insurance to cover the loss and damage caused by such an event.
Similarly when propane gas cylinders exploded at the former Lincolnshire RAF hangar now a AWS Eco-plastic factory fire crews were called to the scene to battle with the billowing black smoke that radiated from the hangar on Tuesday 24 August in the afternoon.
Local residents were instructed to keep doors and windows shut to avoid breathing in the smoke and fire crews remained at the site most of Wednesday to try and dampen the fire. The main road A631 between Harpswell to Caenby Corner was also closed off as a precaution.
A spokesman for the fire rescue service explained that currently an investigation had not yet been launched as investigators were still aiding fire crews. However once it became safe to do so they would compile a report and talk to owners and workers alike to help build a picture of what actually caused the fire to ignite.
Lower premiums provides business insurance for local industries to allow them to safeguard against the damages and losses caused by major insurable perils flood, fire, storm and theft.
