Employee compensated for machine injury

£12,000 in compensation has been awarded to a man who was working as an operator in a kitchen appliance factory and badly injured his left shoulder.

The man, who was putting together a washing machine, was attempting to manually pull down a metal panel that would be secured in place on the machine, but it hadn’t been positioned properly and would not move.

As the man put force into the metal panel he badly injured his left shoulder and his thumb. The worker has now taken voluntary redundancy.
