A JCB Driver, who was severely injured in an accident when his JCB toppled over, has received £2.5 million in damages. The man was driving his JCB on a construction site when the vehicle toppled over leaving him with catastrophic injuries to his lower body and right arm.
He spent 11 months in hospital to have serious treatment to the complicated pelvic injuries he received and also undergo treatment on the serious crush injuries that he received to both his leg and right arm.
After 12 months of treatment he was discharged from hospital, leaving him permanently reliant on a wheelchair. He still has to visit the hospital to undergo operations that will stabilise his injuries; this allows him to walk a short distance with a frame.
Liability over the accident was disputed by the construction site; however it was resolved in court after two years of obtaining necessary evidence.
