Lack of training results in injury

£32,000 has been awarded to a welder after receiving serious injuries after his hand became caught in a circular saw.

The man, who was required to prepare a length of wood for cutting was asked to use the bench circular saw that he had not had any training for. Whilst he was using the saw his hand became caught causing serious injury to his index and middle fingers.

Physiotherapy treatment had to be carried out and he now suffers from numbness to his hand and cannot bend his fingers.
