A landlord rented out his three-bedroom property in Wales to what he thought were decent tenants, who he believed to be well off Chinese restaurant owners.
He agreed to rent his property for £650 a month, which was always paid on time and with no complaints from his tenants.
The landlord went to check the garden, when he noticed the curtains were closed and the general condition of the property was a mess. He decided to return the following day to find the door locks had been changed. He contacted a friend who worked as a detective who warned him not to enter the house.
The man was so angry he climbed up a ladder and into the skylight in the roof; he couldn’t believe the state of the house. There was mud, fertiliser and watering cans all over the place.
The landlord bumped into a Chinese man who looked more scared than he did. The Chinese man and the gardener had disappeared by the time the police had arrived. The house was home to 130 cannabis plants valued at £80, 000 and £10,000 in equipment.
