A Pub Landlord has received £117,500 in compensation after he received a gunshot after being injured in a bungled robbery at his pub.
Whilst cashing up at the end of the night the pub was entered by armed intruders, taking his wife and son hostage. One of the intruders decided to open fire, aiming a shotgun at the landlord, causing serious injury to his upper leg.
The robbery, which led to a mental breakdown to both the landlord and his wife, also caused significant disability to his injured leg. As he could not face to return back to work as a publican, he was forced to take out re-training for a new job path.
