OFT suggest that estatge agents could be a thing of the past

The Office of Fair Trading has caused controversy in the property market this week after announcing that the way property is sold in the UK could do with a 'shake up'. Their statement has caused serious speculation in the property market as those looking to sell may find themselves putting their property on sites such as Google and Tesco who may start offering their services to the property market.

This will come as a huge blow to estate agents who may find that they are forced to re-evaluate their business model. The OFT's report suggests that by using other means rather than using an estate agents could lead to better deals for buyers and sellers.

The founder of Briffy.com an online property marketer, David Amstell has said that this is unlikely to affect most buyers and sellers as they will probably still search for property the same way.
