Poor lighting leads to fall

A payout of £13,000 compensation was awarded to a woman who fell down an inadequately lit stairwell at work.

The lady was taken rubbish out to the dustbins at her work place. The bins were out the back of the kitchen. To get to bins you have to descend a stairwell. The stairwell did not have good lighting and the lady fell.

She sustained a fracture of the left tibia and fibula, which required attention and resulted having an intramedullary nail.
