Sutton family forced to leave after council wreck their home

Katie Joslin, 23, of Tormead Close, Sutton has had her family home wrecked by a council dustcart. The incident occurred while sitting in her living room with her partner and her 3-year-old son laid asleep upstairs. The family where then startled as they heard an almighty crash and felt the house shake, Katie fearing for her son, raced upstairs to check on him. She then peered out the window to see a council vehicle imbedded into the side of her home.

The accident has caused major cracks and structural damage to the property as well as some internal damage. The council stated it would take a while for the damage to the house to be deemed safe to live in. The council currently has re-homed the family to a local holiday inn and hopes to move them to an alternative home within the next week or so.
