Victim is compensated for whiplash

£3,000 compensation has been awarded to a lady after her vehicle was shunted forward by a van which had been hit by a bus whilst she was stationary at traffic lights.

The woman, who was travelling back to her office at the time of the accident was taken to hospital to be checked over and was cleared. It was not until a couple of days later that she started suffering headaches and neck pain and was diagnosed with whiplash.

Initially a settlement of £500 was offered out of court, however the women’s solicitors would not accept on the grounds that although this was a low speed impact their client did sustain injuries that could have been prevented had the bus not been careless and so court proceedings were issued.
