The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has urged the public not to reduce their spending in the public sector. It is thought that for every pound spent in public service 64p is generated into the local economy. If this cash flow is disrupted it could have negative effects to the UK and would increase the amount of time it would take for the country to free itself from the recession.
The Association for Public Services have also urged everyone not to reduce spending and say that although reducing the amount we are spending at this time may keep the current cash flow even, in the long term it will cause businesses and services to increase the amount they charge in order to stabilise their financial situation.
The Government has already made plans to create 20,000 apprenticeship jobs over the next three years, in an attempt to help boost the economy by creating more jobs.
